internet connection

since i have installed vista home onto my system i cannot connect to the
internet via my belkin router, i connect via a ethernet cable to the router,
have tried switching the router off and on agin , tried for ie to find the
router which sometimes it does but only get local connection, before i loaded
vista i had no problems.
any ideas please.

Can you ping a public IP? If yes, check the DNS settings. Or this search result may help,

Tried that with my problem shown below. Look at all of the threads. What is
going on with this system?
