Based on my knowledge, in Windows Vista, Microsoft has removed MS-CHAP v1
from the list of authentication protocols for dial-up connections, for
broadband (PPPoE) connections, and for virtual private network (VPN)
connections.

Enable RAS Tracing Log
1. Under Vista command prompt, run ¡°netsh ras set tracing * enable¡±
2. Try to reproduce this issue, then run ¡°netsh ras set tracing * disable¡±
3. Go to %SystemRoot%\tracing, compress all files and send them to me.
Event Log
1. Run eventvwr on Vista.
2. Expand to Event Viewer (Local) ->Windows Logs->System.
3. Right click ¡°System¡±, and then select ¡°Save Events as¡*¡± to save the
system event log.
4. Send the saved event log to me.£¨v-tozhan@microsoft.com£©
