Internet Continuously Failing
I've been working on this for about a week now, and I have exhausted everything I know or have been able to find on the internet to no avail. I'm hoping someone here will take pity on me and help me solve this problem, because I'm going to go ahead and be done with Windows entirely if I can't solve this soon (as well as my company).
Okay, let's start off with some informations.
-My internet can last a while if I don't push it too hard. If I don't watch any videos, try to download any relatively big files, etc. Perhaps that will give you a hint to the direction of the problem.
-Resetting the modem does not solve the problem, resetting the network adapter does (though, perhaps I'd have to reset the network adapter after resetting the modem anyway.... fact of the matter is, if I reset the network adapter as a standalone step, internet is back up).
-When the internet dies (no websites will load, AIM messages don't go through, etc) sometimes if I click on view settings for the network adapter from Network and Sharing, I'm still receiving and sending information. However, I have 0 access to anything internet.
Things I have tried:
-Unbinding IPv6
-Changing 2 registry keys (one for tunneling I think, one for the IPv6 DisabledProperties or something like that).
-Power on/off of modem, router, computer in sequence.
-Running internet directly from modem to computer.
-Beating the hell out of my punching bag
-Changing speed/duplex setting
-Changing browsers
-Updating Drivers (all current)
-Making sure cables are firmly in slots/changing cables
It doesn't seem to matter what I do.. connection always dies when I try to do anything that require actual broadband capabilities. What's the point of having broadband if I can only do things I could do just as well from dialup? I can watch maybe 3-10 minutes of video (it's random), then the network adapter loses connetion, and I have to reset it.
I just have no clue what's going on. I can't even think of what the problem is, let alone how to fix it.
