Hi,

I have added a few user accounts in PC for sharing purposes. But the users'
name will also appear on my desktop screen. Is it possible for the desktop
screen to show only the administrator name? If yes, how to do it. Kindly
advise.

Thank you very much

Here are three variations on the theme since I'm not sure exactly which way
you want to go with this:

A. If you want the computer to automatically log onto a specific account:

Start Orb>Search box>type: netplwiz [enter]
Click on Continue (or supply an administrator's password) when prompted by
UAC

Uncheck the option "Users must enter a user name and password to use this
computer". Select a user account to automatically log on by clicking on the
desired account to highlight it and then hit OK. Enter the correct password
for that user account (if there is one) when prompted. Leave it blank if
there is no password (null).

B. If what you want is something more like the classic logon box where you
have to enter in a name and password:

Start>Search box>type>secpol.msc. When secpol appears in Results above,
right-click it and choose "Run as administrator".

Navigate to Local Policies>Security Options. Double-click on "Interactive
Logon: Do not display last user name ". Change the setting to "Disabled".

If you have Home Basic/Premium you won't have secpol so run the Registry
Editor as elevated and navigate to this key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Policies\System

Modify "dontdisplaylastusername" by giving it a Value of 1.

C. If you want to have the Welcome Screen because the user needs to enter a
password, see this webpage which has a very good illustration of how to
hide the other user accounts. It's a bit complex and there are caveats so
it is better for you to go to the page (which has pictures, too) rather
than me writing it all down.
