VISTA Can't See Printer 'Host Unreachable'

We have a small network with 3 PCs and 1 printer with wired connections
to a router.

All of the PCs can see each other on the network. One of the PCs cannot
see or print to the network printer, though the other two can.

The printer is shown as installed, but PING shows 4 packets sent, 4
packets received - 'Host Unreachable'.

Is there some file or driver that might be corrupted on the one PC
causing this... ?

We have checked the IPs and Subnets - all good.

Thanks for help... :-)

Re: VISTA Can't See Printer 'Host Unreachable'
if the TCP/IP settings are good and you can see each other, it could be a
firewall issue. Do you have 3rd party security software on the computer? If
try safe mode with network, can you see the printer? This how to may help.

Re: VISTA Can't See Printer 'Host Unreachable'

Also - no Firewall problems, turning off windows firewall and NOD32 does
not make any difference - sorry, forgot to add that to the above post...
:-)

This computer can print to a printer that is wired to one of the other
computers on the network - but not to the network printer. The other 2
computers on the network can print to the network printer...

Some specific problem between this computer and the network printer -
what could it be... ?

Let's look at logs from "browstat status", "ipconfig /all", "net config server",
and "net config workstation", from each computer, so we can diagnose the
problem. Read this article, and linked articles, and follow instructions
precisely (download browstat!):

Re: VISTA Can't See Printer 'Host Unreachable'

Hello Again - Finally have some info... :-)

As mentioned before:

Computers 1, 2 & 3 can ping each other, as well as the network printer,
SatTVs and Computer 4.

Computers 1, 2 & 3 can print to the Network Printer, as well as the
printer USB/wired to Computer 1.

Computer 4 cannot ping the Network Printer or Computer 2 - which are
both on a D-Link DGS-2205 Switch that is wired to the D-Link DGL-4500
Router.

Computer 4 also cannot ping the SatTVs.

Computer 4 cannot print to the Network Printer 'Host Unreachable' - but
CAN print to the printer USB/wired to Computer 1.

Computer 4 also regularly 'loses' it's Network Icon from the Task Bar,
for some reason... ?

The logs from "browstat status", "ipconfig /all", "net config server",
and "net config workstation" from Computers 1, 2 & 3 show identical
settings (except for individual name/addresses, of course).

We have all device addresses set as 'reserved' in the router.

After reading your notes about the hidden firewall with some nVidia
nForce Network Controllers, was wondering if this may be the problem
with COMPUTER 4...? If so, what to do... ?

Help with fixing this problem will be very much appreciated...! :-)

Here is the Network Layout:

ROUTER
|
-----------------------------------------------
(Modem) (Switch 1) (PC 1) (Switch 2) (PC 4)
| |
--------------------- ---------------------
(PC 2) (Netwk Prntr) (Switch 3) (Switch 4)
| |
--------------- -------
(SatTV) (PC 3) (SatTV)

Attached are logs for Computer 1 (able to ping all) and Computer 4
(problem computer, which is also listed as Master Browser in all
Computers Logs):

Re: VISTA Can't See Printer 'Host Unreachable'

OK - Working through this and got the printer problem solved by
following the instructions:

http://networking.nitecruzr.net/search?q=nvidia

We actually had the NVidia nForce Network Controller on two of the
computers, and so uninstalled and then reinstalled the drivers with out
the NAM stuff. Also had to go into Advanced Properties and change
Priority & VLAN to disabled...

Now we are getting error "Unable to retrieve server list from "BROWSER
MASTER": 1130" on whichever computer happens to be the current Browser
Master...

...and this: "Could not connect to registry, error = 53
Unable to determine build of browser master: 53
Unable to determine server information for browser master: 53" on all
the other computers...

All the computers have "Enable NetBIOS over TCP/IP" checked
specifically.

All have Network Discovery and File Sharing enabled.

All have Private Network and same Workgroup Name.

All computers can see and ping each other and the network printer.

Any suggestions for clearing the errors in Browstat Status... ?

Thanks for help!
