Can't connect to Internet
I upgraded to Vista Home Premium yesterday from XP SP2, and although my
wireless connection worked at first, it suddenly stopped working and I find I
can't connect via broadband either. The network map shows limited network
access - Local, and looking at the properties both IPv4 and IPv6 show
limited. Anyone have any ideas? I should caution I know very little about
networking, so would appreciate simple replies for my simple mind!!!

RE: Can't connect to Internet
Hi Pom:
After you did the upgrade to Vista I'll bet you checked for upgrades to the
new Vista install. Often when any Windows version gets upgrades the
"workgroup" name gets changed to the default. Even though you may have been
using the defaults under XP SP2 check for the current name under Vista
[Control panel, system] and check the firewall for allowed connections.

RE: Can't connect to Internet
Hi Windy George

You're right; it had changed the workgroup name but I still had the same
problem after I corrected that. It turned out, after I went to the trouble of
doing a clean install, that the Vodafone 3G card was somehow conflicting with
the wireless connection. Not sure why that is, given they now have a Vista
compatible driver for these cards, but there it is. So if anyone else uses
these cards on Vista, prepare for problems!!! (that won't come as a shock to
Vodafone users!)
