The first thing I would check is go into Device Manager, find your
network card and right click and select Properties. Click Power
Management Tab. Make sure that "Allow the computer to turn off this
device to save power" is NOT checked. If it is, uncheck it, click OK
all the way out, and reboot. See if you got lucky.
