Cannot get IP assigned automatically
I have a Vista Notebook configured with a Workgroup.
I connect to a 2003 server (Active Directory & domain) either with wireless
or cable.
It always gets the error that it cannot contact the DHCP server and times
out when I try to have IP assigned automatically.
If I enter values in the Alternate screen everything connects fine.
This always worked OK with my XP notebook which I sadly had to retire.

Thanks,
Uwe

Re: Cannot get IP assigned automatically
Yes, the windows2003 server is set up to provide DHCP, DNS, and Print server.
It's a very small home network.

Re: Cannot get IP assigned automatically
I gave up on Vista. I wiped the machine and installed XP and all is working
fine. Just finished - took a while.
