I am unable to access file servers by name
From my Vista machines I am unable to access file servers on our LAN using
the computers name i.e. \\name. However I can access them by IP address i.e.
\\X.Y.Z

I am able to access desktop machines fine via name, just not file servers.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
John

Re: I am unable to access file servers by name
try this command: ping -a x.y.z from the Vista. Post back the result.
