IE 64bit working and 32bit not?
Hey there, i had a problem with my entire hd being full of viruses. I
downloaded kaspersky and removed them all, problem is it also removed my
winsock.dll file (and its backup as it was infected too) meaning only
64bit IE would work. Now i spent ages trying to get this work and google
couldnt find any answer, fear not i have a fix.
Start > run > cmd > enter
at the cmd prompt type in netsh winsock reset
voila, you may need a reboot but your ie 32bit AND your firefox should
now work again.
Even though this is for XP i found this link i came across by pure
chance very useful!
Hrm how interesting i can no longer copy and paste.. these problems
really do come in groups =/ Anyway the KB article number at microsoft is
811259
Forgot to mention you might want to remove the kaspersky antivirus
filter on your network connection aswell..
