Wireless network adapter problem
I posted this in the hardware forum but did not get any reply so i thought i
would try here.

shortly after i installed SP 1 for vista business my wireless card started to
disable itself and stop all traffic. the only way i could get my network back
was to reboot the laptop. i have looked in the network connections folder and
saw the card was listed as disabled, after trying to enable it it still said
it was disabled even tho the "enabling..." window poped up. i have tried to
reinstall drivers, upgrade drivers, release and renew (only to be told it is
disabled), run the diagnositcs and checked my router. my router was not
causing the problems as others in my house were still connected.

Recently tried to upgrade drivers again and then right after i completed
that and tried to start loading my programs that connect to the internet the
card went out again.

any help with this problem is greatly appreciated. i am running vista
business and a Intel(R) PRO/Wireless 3945ABG.

Re: Wireless network adapter problem
Does the light by the wireless on/off switch on the front or side of your
laptop also indicate off when the computer says it is disabled?

Re: Wireless network adapter problem
the light that is for the wireless does go out, but it also goes out if im
not connected to a network cause its also an activity light. i know some
laptops are just on or off depending on the status of the card. the switch
itself for controling the wireless is still on and turning it off then on
again does nothing. i do also have an Fn+F2 way of turning on and off the
card but the software for doign that doesnt see the wireless card.
