By design, the firewall should allow remote desktop access after enabling remote desktop. if you want to disable firewall, the Remote desktop should work too.

I want to enable Remote Desktop on a Vista Business edition. Due to the
problems the Windows firewall can cause on an internal network, I have a
group policy that disables the firewall.
How do I enable Remote Desktop without having to have the firewall on.
Surely MS would not require the firewall to be running to enable Remote
Desktop - would they?
