Resetting Vista Home Premium Network Adapter

I'm running Vista Home Premium on an Acer Desktop with 1.75 GB of Ram. Since
I have to keep resetting my network adapter to get Windows mail to work, or
to get IE to start responding, I'm looking for the correct system command to
do this. Can anyone tell me the proper system command?

You can try to make batch files, one containing the command ipconfig
/release, and one containing ipconfig /renew, or any other parameter that
you reset.

ipconfig [/? | /all | /release [adapter] | /renew [adapter] | /flushdns |
/registerdns | /showclassid adapter | /setclassid adapter [classidtoset] ]

/all Display full configuration information.
/release Release the IP address for the specified adapter.
/renew Renew the IP address for the specified adapter.
/flushdns Purges the DNS Resolver cache.
/registerdns Refreshes all DHCP leases and re-registers DNS names
/displaydns Display the contents of the DNS Resolver Cache.
/showclassid Displays all the dhcp class IDs allowed for adapter.
/setclassid Modifies the dhcp class id.

However the need to Reset is Not normal, and should not happen.
If you describe in more detail the network and the phenomenon may be a
better cure can be found.

Ok, so what happens occasionally is that when I try to send something out on
Windows mail I get an error message saying the POP3 server isn't responding.
Usually at the same time, my IE really slows down (10-20 seconds to open a
page I've opened a million times. The only cure for these situations is to
`Repair my network connection' which then requests that I reset my network
adapter. When I do that everything is fine. Fact is I have to do this a few
times a week. Often I also have to reset my Linksys router when things just
slow down. This helps paging also.

Have you got the latest Vista firmware for your router?
Are the Adaptor Drivers up to date?
In network connections> right-click Properties> try unbinding TCP/IPv6
v6 can causes probs with Internet connections
