more help needed, LAN ? dual booting

I have a Vista partition and a XP partiton on the same hard drive, I have two
LAN connections on Vista, but none on XP. XP has two firewire connections, so
I can't connect to the internet when using XP. What do I need to do so that I
can get a LAN connection in XP.

Malke said that I needed to install ethernet drivers. my questions are do I
need to get LAN drivers from Asus , maker of my board. or Intel, the chipset
maker. Is LAN drivers and ethernet drivers the same. I'm I correct to put
them in an XP folder and install the drivers from there or do I need to
install the drivers from Vista.

My board came Asus 8800GTX and it has the Intel 775 chipset

I found drivers for the Asus LAN that is for my board, ASUS P5N32-E SLI
nVidia LAN RIS driver, it is for XP. Would this be the correct one.

I'm not sure if I found the correct driver for Intel. I found one ethernet
driver,but couldn't install it, because I didn't have some componet installed
..

Any help appreciated.

Next time post to the same thread instead of creating a new one. That way
the history of the conversation will be preserved.

LAN stands for "Local Area Network". There is no such thing as a "LAN
driver". You need drivers for the network adapter with which you want to
connect to your Local Area Network - ethernet (cable) or wireless. You
still didn't say how you are trying to connect. You also still didn't tell
us if you have a Desktop or Laptop or anything about your computer (OEM or
home-built?), which might make a difference in the answers you get.

In any case, if your ethernet adapter is on your motherboard, you need the
drivers for it. You need to install drivers for *all* your hardware and it
sounds like you didn't do this. See below for general drivers information,
which will tell you how to find and get drivers:

Never get drivers from Windows Update. Get them from:

1. The device mftr.'s website; OR
2. The motherboard mftr.'s website if hardware is onboard; OR
3. The OEM's website for your specific machine if you have an OEM computer
(HP, Dell, Sony, etc.).

Read the installation instructions on the website where you get the drivers.

To find out what hardware is in your computer:

1. Read any documentation you got when you bought the computer.
2. If the computer is OEM, go to the OEM's website for your specific model
machine and look at the specs (you'll be there to get the drivers anyway)
3. Download, install and run a free system inventory program like Belarc
