Setting up home network
I have 2 PC's I want to setup on home network. My internet connection is
satalight thru LAN port. My main PC is running Vista Premium--this is PC
currently connected to satalight connection. The other PC I want to connect
is runnig Windows XP Professional SP2. The PC's are in different rooms so I
need a wireless connection between the 2. I know I need a wireless rooter
and a card for the XP PC. But I am not sure if I also need a card for the
Vista PC since this is the one that will be connected to satalight
connection thru wired connection. Can anyone clarify this for me? Any
recommendations on best router? I have concrete walls so I need something
that I won't have too many problems maintaining the connection.

RE: Setting up home network
I just setup my home network and here is how I did it:

My main PC is connected to my Belkin Wireless Router. My Belkin Wireless
Router is connected to my Broadband Modem. I have 2 other PC's connected
(Hard Wired) to the Belkin Router. I wanted to have the speed with no
degradation, so I went hard wire instead of the wireless route.

I would suspect that the only thing you would change from the scenario above
is for your remote PC. They would be connected through the wireless
methodology. Meaning you would have to have either a wireless card or use a
wireless USB. It would probably be easier just to buy a wireless connection
via USB. I know Linksys makes them, since I have 1, but I am sure many
others do as well. The reason I suggest USB, is it is easy to use. Just
plug it into a USB port and away you go!

Good Luck! Gunny

RE: Setting up home network
You don't need a Wireless card for the wired computer.
But, you set up the wireless network through the wired computer.

The manual, or software(CD), with your router will explain how to log into
your router from the wired computer, and set up a wireless network.

Once done, your computer with the wireless card, will pick up the wireless
network.

Make sure security for the wireless network that you have named, is at least
WPA(Security Key)
