VPN & Cannot generate SSPI context.
When I am VPN'd into another network I get "Cannot generate SSPI context" in
Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio when trying to Connect to Database
Engine.

This happens whether or not I have "Use default gateway on remote network"
checked.

Can someone help me fix this problem?

Re: VPN & Cannot generate SSPI context.

I have the same exact issue, along with my domain account constantly
getting locked when I have a VPN connection, however, after making the
vpn connection if you go to

Control Panel
User Accounts
Manage User Accounts
Advanced Tab
Manage Passwords
Delete the <dialup session> entry in the saved passwords which is added
when you connect via VPN

After doing so, my domain account isn't locked any more, nore do I have
the SSPI error with SQL.

Hope this helps.

This must be repeated after each connection to a VPN.

Does anyone no of a way to disable manage passwords?

Hi guys... I'm having exactly the same symptoms... Did you ever get a
resolution or work-around?

Re: VPN & Cannot generate SSPI context.

Delete the <dialup session> saved password worked for me as a
workaround.

Control Panel
User Accounts
Manage User Accounts
Advanced Tab
Manage Passwords
Delete the <dialup session> entry in the saved passwords which is added
when you connect via VPN

Re: VPN & Cannot generate SSPI context.

Yes, that works for me too - but you have to do it every time you
connect to the VPN... Not exaclty convenient.

Re: VPN & Cannot generate SSPI context.

I agree totally, but that is all that I've been able to find as a
workaround, granted it's a pain to do each time after making a VPN
connection. If you find a more permanent workaround please post. I've
looked for a way to disallow saving of the passwords all together, but
have not been able to find it yet.
