Wireless issues with Vista

I have a Sony Vaio laptop which runs Vista and I have been having problems
with my wireless networking.

The connection keeps going on and off. It does reconnect soon enough but it
makes browsing a big problem. When I look into my network and sharing screen,
it shows the connection getting severed, I get a message saying "it will take
a few minutes to switch to home profile" and then it reconnects.

The other point of note is that the problem is a new one. I have had the
laptop for 3 months now and this problem has surfaced only in the past month
seemingly after installing Norton internet Security 2008. I have now
completely uninstalled the Norton package but the problem persists.

Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated.

You only think you have completely uninstalled Norton.
Go to your registry and delete all references to Symantec.
Be sure to backup your registry first.
