Cannot see Windows XP Computers

Like Mike S I agree that this is a useless reply. With a fully developed
product one does not expect to have to go into the depths that these links
lead you into. The people here, like me, are asking an end-user question,
not a developer's question!

I expected a simple answer such as ensuring the workgroup name matches.
Of course I had made sure this was right as well as correctly configuring
Norton IS firewall allowed computers addresses. Well the answer in my case,
simply, was to disable (uncheck) tcpip v6 in the properties box of the
network connection. Once that was done access to WinXP computers came up
with full access.

i have tried every thing that all of you have written and still can not
access the files on my pc that runs xp pro from my laptop that has vista
premium on it....the vista laptop sees my xp pro pc as a media device not a
computer.....anyone want to tackle this one.....i think bill gates dropped
the ball on this one......allowing vista to be on the market until all the
bugs were ironed out.....and back and forth...ect....ect.

Hi Everybody,

I have HP lappie with Vista Home Premium and Norton Internet security 2007
(preinstalled 60 days). I was facing the same problem since i bought the
laptop. I followed Sen's above said steps to reconfigure the firewall of
Norton Internet security and i can now connect between any computers, share
files, printers, etc. whether XP or Vista with windows firewall of on my
Vista.
