As frustrating as this problem is, you don't necessarily have to change your
security to WPA in order to get around it. If you add your network manually
in the manage wireless networks window, making sure to use the exact name of
your network and WEP key (both case sensitive) the request for additional log
on information goes away.

sorry to bump an old topic but i just wanted to thank this user.
nothing else worked but this solved the problem right away for anyone
having the same problem.
