Automatically get new TCP/IP settings on wifi adapter?

How do I force Vista to do what it should be doing anyway, i.e. get new
TCP/IP settings when it connects to a new access point (with different SSID,
WEP key, channel no)

Vista (HP) certainly does not do it automatically... ipconfig /all shows IP
address of previous access point... and previous gateway/DNS.

"Repair" usually resolves the issue but it shouldn't be necessary.

DHCP client is on; IPv6 is off; all current updates applied.

Access point that Vista will not connect to properly is a Netgear WPN824
Firmware V2.0.15_1.0.11; DHCP on LAN Port ON (i.e. is LAN DHCP server)

I'll use the clue to see if the routers concerned (at home and here at the
cafe hotspot - both Netgear and both at least 2 years old) support the
Broadcast flag with a view to upgrading the firmware if possible or not
and/or amend the registry...

(one wonders what the spec for DHCP actually is if the broadcast flag can be
used so differently...)

Just so the info is here for others... I created and set the the appropriate
key (DhcpConnEnableBcastFlagToggle) as per KB928233 and this morning when I
returned to the wifi hotspot the laptop connected OK without any fuss,
obtaining the correct gateway address so the internet connection worked
immediately.

Although it should be noted that the wifi adapter STILL did not obtain a new
IP address, and since the DNS address is the same here as it is at home I
can't tell whether that was "set" correctly.

But, it works.
