New Vista PC can't connect to (map) path on server.
Hello,
I have 2 PC, one with Vista Home Basic, and one with XP pro.
I use a VPN connection to log into a win 2003 server on work.
Everything works ok with the XP pro PC.
I use a bat file to map a path on the server, but on the Vista PC I get
error 53 (path not found) and it is impossible to map the path.
I can ping the server by IP from both PC's.
I hope someone can have a clue to fix this problem.
Regards, Gunnar.

Re: New Vista PC can't connect to (map) path on server.
Sounds like name resolution issue. Can you map the server using IP?

Re: New Vista PC can't connect to (map) path on server.
Hello, thanks for the answer.
I use IP, but the new Vista PC will not connect.
We have tried with Vista on diffrent PC's but but so far we had to go back
to XP.

Re: New Vista PC can't connect to (map) path on server.
What happens if you just browse to \\servername (or \\ipaddress)? My
guess is that you have a password problem that isn't being shown by
your script...

Re: New Vista PC can't connect to (map) path on server.
Thanks for answering.
I have tried this but Vista PC can't access the share on the server.
