Assuming the remote computer is 192.168.1.2, try this command after establishing the VPN: net use \\192.168.1.2 /u:username (the username is remote computer username). You need to enter the password. Does that work?

I have a laptop & desktop network set up with Vista Business. I can connect
the two of them successfully at home and have established approximately a
dozen shares on the two machines.
I have built a VPN to allow the two machines to connect when traveling.
When on the road, I connect via the VPN to the Desktop but I can only see
two of the 12 shares that I have set up. I suspect I have a setting wrong
somewhere but not sure where. Can anyone point me in the right direction.
thanks
Paul
