xp, vista and printer sharing

I have a hp deskjet set up as a shared printer on an XP machine. I could
access it fine from another XP but not from a new Vista Home Premium machine.
It is on the network map but when i go to add printer get message that
Windows cannot connect to the printer. Network is private home network via a
BT home hub. Pcs are in same workgroup. Network otherwse fine - can copy
files around.

Would add that printer needs to stay on XP PC since no parallel port on XP box.

Thank you Chuck, I have wasted hours trying to set up a network printer and
achieved what I wanted with your paper in 5 minutes!
