First check both Sharing (network access) and Security (local and network
access) settings. Are you using Password Protected Sharing enabled (aka XP and
Advanced File Sharing), or PPS disabled (aka XP Simple File Sharing)?

Then look at all firewalls and other security components. Have you loaded any
new software? What antivirus product do you have?
