Media Center Sharing
Hello,
I have a HP M8120N PC with Vista Ultimate and Intel VIIV technology. Within
both apps I have configured my Shared Media Library (MP3, Digital and Scanned
Photographs, and Videos)... However while using a PS3 which supports DNAS (I
know it's not Microsofts XBOX, but lets get over that hump) I can only browse
down a couple of levels, but obviously my directory structure is to big.
Because the only way that I can browse pictures is by Date taken on my
device.... MP3's have to be done using the VIIV technology.
Are there specific restrictions that need to be known when connecting a DNAS
device up to a Media Center Device? Or is this a known Media Center Server
issue... I haven't tried connecting another smart device to see if it can
browse the structure correctly; and therefore maybe tell me if this is a
known Media Center limitation or is it a limitation of the device connecting
up that can not allocate enough pointers for my directory structures?
I'm sharing a Photograph/Scanned images directory of about 16k images... And
A MP3 Library of 47 Gig (which is about 9120 songs)...
My images directory is something like this:
Digi Photos
+ Year
+ Grouping 1
+ Grouping A (Optional)
- Event
+ Grouping 2
- Category
+ etc
Scanned Photos
.... Similar Structure
MP3's are very much alike but:
Artist
+CD 1 ( Songs)
+ CD2 (Songs)
Next Artists
Compilation Grouping
+Comp CD1 (Songs)
Any thoughts on why a DNAS device woudl be experiencing this issue browsing
by directory it would be appreciated... The graphics folder can get quite
deep based on teh groupings... I can get about 4 levels in but its not deep
enough for the photos, cause its another 1 or 2 directories deeper....
Thanks in advance for anything you an supply for thoughts or feedback.
