"net use" command freezes Vista

Hi:

I have a Dell D630 laptop that runs Vista Ultimate. I also have a
Dell Vostro 200 desktop that runs Vista Ultimate.

I have a batch file on my laptop that connects to varies resources on
the desktop, something like:

net use n: "\\desktop\documents" /user:me

The problem is that as soon as this batch file is run, I can't do
anything on my laptop any more...I eventually have to hold the power
button and force a hard shutdown.

However, if I manually do the same thing from Windows Explorer (Tools
- Map Network Drive), and map the same drive letter to the same
resources, the laptop will keep working.

The laptop will keep working if I run the batch file in the elevated
admin privilege account.

Only under the first scenario where my laptop freezes.

Right now, I have to use the later two methods to get anything done.

Anybody has any idea?
