hey,,saw ur thread,,
i had the same problem.. when i try it with my lappy (xp pro) it works
fine,i was almost got fed up with it,,i did this,go to

network connections>(right click ur lan)properties>v4 tcp/ip
properties>advanced>under ip setting and under default gateway i entered
my default gateway(which is provided dynamically by my isp). and ok
it... thats it.. it worked.

to get ur def gateway

go to cmd prompt

type >ipconfig /all

there you'll find it.. lemme know if this works!!
