Vista Linksys USB Network Adapters - Available Wireless Networks
Adding Vista machine to existing Linksys wireless network (WRT54GS V4 router
current firmware).... Using Linksys USB Wireless Adapter WUSB54GS V2 (current
Vista driver)....
On restart/ reboot / sometimes sleep wake up.... List of available networks
shows only two networks (SSIDs); neither mine..... Vista won't autoconnect to
my SSID (not displayed)......
Repeated refresh of the list of available networks (10+ times) will then
expand to four networks (happily one of them is mine) and then autoconnects
to my network.
After that everything is nice till the next restart and I get to fiddle with
refresh to get a connection (not very desirable).
Found and article that seems to be related..... 927546 "You see only four
available wireless network connections when you use a USB-based wireless
network adapter in Windows XP or in Windows Vista"
I've changes the RTS and Frag Threshold settings as suggested to 2304; even
disabled the network adapter (not using it)......
This all worked fine on XP, I have 2 XP SP2 and 1 Macintosh on this network
for quite a while with no problems but this is the only USB Wireless adapter
(it works on the XP machines).......
