Can connect with XP not with Vista

Hello,

I have no ideas anymore...

I want to connect to setup a VPN from outside.

All the XP machines can connect without any issue. The Vista-machines
can't connect when they are behind a router. If they are connected
directly to a telephone line, or by cable, also the Vista machines can
connect to the VPN.

So I thought the router must stop some traffic. I already tried 4
different routers and brands. Everytime the XP's can connect
immediately, the Vista's not...

Somebody has an idea what is causing this?

None. Just a screen that says that the connection can't be made and 3
options (I'll translate cause my version is in Dutch):
1. Locate the problem: says that the router can't be pinged, which is
normal.
2. Again: same result
3. Try another connection

Do a simple test. Can you telnet port 1723?

Result: Trying to connect to ip-address... can not connect to host on
port 1723: connection failed

Assuming XP works but Vista, I would double check the Vista security settings. Or run clean boot with firewall disable. This how to may help,

Hello Robert,

Because it won't work with Vista in clean boot either, I tried the
telnet connection with one of the XP's that can connect without any
problem. The telnet connection fails with the same error as the Vista:
can not connect to host etc. Do you have any other ideas?
