IMPORT DV VIDEO

Hi

I have a Samsung DV "VP-D361" Camcorder. When i import video i get the
following massage: "The Video was not imported correctly" and to try again.

I can view fastforward etc but when i click finish i get the error message,
this is using windows movie maker.

I am connecting using ieee1394 "Firewire port" any help would be grateful.

I have downloaded the codes but samsung have only the 32 bit versions and i
am currently running windoes vista ultimate 64 bit edition, i also have the
DivX codes and i can play AVI files no problems.

Any help would be grate, thanks

The std windows supplied codec should suffice for firewire. It could be a
faulty cable or cam/pc port, as the way these things work ist can lead to
your problem, were some items work, but others don't.
So I'd start by checking these out by testing with another machine.

Some cams only work when plugged into mains electricity, so don't try with
the battery.

divx codecs be of no use in the capture and playing of dv-avi files produced
from your camcorder.
