Viewing Picture and movie files from a cd

I have recently bought a laptop which has Vista Home Basic on it. I have
some pictures and movie clips from my digital camera and mobile phone which i
have copied onto disc from my old xp computer. When I put the disc into my
laptop nothing opens and it's as if there's nothing on the disc. It works
fine in my old computer but not the lap top. Ive got 3 or 4 discs and they
are all the same. Any ideas?
