Movie Maker probably doesn't understand what to do with a Versioned
Object Base (VOB) file. There are conversion applications on the web
that restore a VOB to a MPEG-2 file but likely Movie Maker as well as
many other video editors will mess up the audio stream.
If you visit
http://www.vcdhelp.com they may have a step by step
how-to as far as what applications and pitfalls to watch for. If not,
you can always ask in one of their many forums. Those guys are more
geared towards doing things with free software.
