HELP! formatting cds

Hi, don't know if any1 can help but i'm pretty desperate!

my friend has some really imporant photos on a cd and can't view them with
vista but can with xp, she was told there is a way to format cds in xp to
make them compatable with vista, is this true? if so how do I do it?

The is no special CD "format" for Vista. Besides, how could XP have a
special format for Vista when XP was written long before Vista? That
does not make sense.

Your problem is elsewhere but more information is needed. What format
are the photos? How were they burned on the CD (what application was
used)? What happens when you try to view the pictures on the Vista PC?
Do you get an error message? If so, what is it? Have you tried another
Vista PC? What application are you trying to use to view the photos on
the Vista PC? Please be as descriptive as possible.

No. What file type on these photos? What happens if you insert the CD
in to the Vista system then use Windows Explorer to view the CD's
contents? If Vista 'sees' the photos and if there are no goofy
permission issues there shouldn't be any problem.

You could also have a file associate type problem where some
application was associated with these photos on the XP system, but
either that application isn't on the Vista system or the file types
you're trying to open are associated with the wrong application.

Have you tried copying the files on the CD to the Vista system
directly from a command prompt? That's a brute force method that
bypasses all the GUI junk.
