iTunes burning problems

After installing iTunes and doing all the encessary with music etc I tried to
burn a CD only to have iTunes tell me:

Disc burner or software not found...

Now, on my old XP install it worked fine and never gave me this message. My
question is twofold:

1 - Does iTunes require external drivers or burning software (such as Nero)
to burn discs? I didn't think it did as my old XP install had no other such
software and iTunes coped just fine.

2 - Is there a fix for this if problem available from Microsoft if the
answer to my first question is no?

All help apprieciated.

If your music is in MP3 you can burn it using Windows Media Player. Windows
Vista has all XP's CD burning abilities built in, so this is probably an
iTunes problem.
