Vista Ultimate Movie Maker plays only sound from an .avi import

This has just started. I have several .avi clips that I have downloaded from
my camera. The audio plays without the video. I just get a black screen. It
seems to only happen with these recent clips. I can put .avi clips into Movie
Maker that I have previously recorded and they play okay.

I have opened properties for both; one that plays both video and auido and
the one that only plays auido. Everything looks the same.

Really has me stumped!

If got the same problem. Can anybody help me?

What codecs do these AVI files use? Most digital cameras would use MJPEG
AVI - did you install any third party multimedia tool that might have
overwritten the Windows MJPEG codec... ?
