RE: XBOX 360 & Vista Home Premium
Give it a minute or so before you try navigating in media center. it may
take that long to sync up with your PC on a wireless network.
Your problem may very well be a weak signal, even though you think you are
getting a good one on your wireless setup.
On my Xbox 360, if I look under Network, it will show a full 4 green bars
under signal strength.
However, if I go to the network performance tuner in Media Center, it would
show a very weak signal and would give me a warning that it was not good
enough for video and TV playback. To get to the network performance tuner in
Vista Media Center, scroll down to the tasks option and it should be under
there.
If your 360 is locked up and you can't run the tuner from the 360 itself,
then leave your 360 on and try to run the network performance tuner on your
media center PC.
If your culprit is a weak signal, you will have to adjust your router and
wireless adapter on your 360 to try and get a better signal.
In my case, if my wireless adapter is plugged into the back of the 360 where
its supposed to go, I barely get a signal strong enough to start media
center. I have to keep my adapter plugged into one of the front USB ports
and leave it hanging to the side so that I can adjust the antenna on it to
get a strong signal strength.
