Windows Media Center

I have no sound when playing dvds, it plays CDs fine. The dvd picture is fine
but no audio. Can any one help, the computer I have is a Gateway GT5408

Do they play in Windows Media Player?
What's listed under WMP's Help:about:Technical Support Information menu
tool?

They play fine in windows media player. I asked gateway and they told me it
was because my printer was not vista compatable, I advised them it says it is
and I can't see how my printer would effect the sound in the windows media
center.
