Windows Photo Gallery - Stops Working

All -

I am using a Dell 1505e laptop with Windows Vista Home Premium running on
it. Everything has gone smoothly since receiving the laptop back in February
.... until a couple days ago.

I imported some pictures into my laptop using the CFR (compact flash reader)
slot. When I went to import them into the Windows Photo Gallery, that is
where I got the window pop-up that says "Windows Photo Gallery has stopped
working" along with some other brief text. Basically, the Windows Photo
Gallery app does not even open. Each time I try and open the Windows Photo
Gallery app, I get the same pop-up Window. Windows then tries to find a
solution, to no avail.

This happened out of the blue and I have no idea why. It is really strange.

Questions:

1. Has anyone else experience this behavior?

2. Can you just reinstall the Windows Photo Gallery app or does Windows
Vista need to be reinstalled all together?

Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated!!
