DVDs dropping frames in WMP 11

I have recently got vista home premium on a brand new laptop. When i play a
dvd in Windows Media Center it works fine. However when i play a dvd in WMP
11 and choose full screen the dvd begins to drop frames and become very
jumpy. Horizontal banding is also present. I do not understand why it works
fine in WMC but not WMP11 as they use the same codec. The dvd will play fine
in WMP aslong as it is not on full screen. as soon as i double click it,
thats when the problems start.

Sounds like a video card driver problem. What is your video adapter? Any
updated video drivers available from your laptop manufacturer's web site?
