Movie Maker v6 cannot drag files to storyboard

Hi,

I'm not able to drag video clips to the Storyboard in Windows Movie Maker v6
after importing several from a digital video camera. I'm running Windows
Vista Ultimate with all of the latest product updates. The preview panel
works fine (plays the videos) so there doesn't seem to be anything wrong with
the video source. I would appreciate any help that can be offered. Also, does
anyone have a suggestion regarding an alternate product that works? I don't
need anything too sophisticated. I don't want to spend much of my time or
yours trying to debug this application so if another product works I'll just
switch.
