Rotating Images

I was wondering if there was a way to enable rotating images in Windows Photo
Gallery Viewer?

I dont want to have to open the Windows Photo Gallery just to rotate one
image. I just want to do a quick edit.

I was able to in XP. I dont think they'd remove that function.

To give you more information, this is what I am doing:
Double-Click the jpeg on my desktop--->a preview is shown in Windows Photo
Gallery Viewer---> the rotation buttons are "greyed out" or inactive.

The rotation buttons are only activated when i open Windows Photo Gallery.

Any Ideas

Duh! Don't you see the rotation arrows? Click one.

You can do the same thing from Windows Explorer. Right click on any
image, then pick rotate clockwise or counter clockwise. The option is
limited to 90 degees turns.

When i right click on the image, the text "Rotate Clockwise" or "Rotate
Counter clockwise" is greyed out and so are the arrows (as mentioned in my
previous post).

Any other suggestions?

The image file is probably read-only. Did you copy it from a CD or DVD?
Right-click on the file, select Properties, and uncheck the Read Only
attribute & click Apply

Then check the file's attributes and undo "read only" if that is
indicated under properties. All esle fails see if turning off UAC
helps. Is more than one application try to access the file at once?
This will drive Windows nuts.

IT WAS READ ONLY!!! How dumb of me. It was an email attachment that i copied
to my desktop. Thanks for your support.
