Saving tiff files

I've just installed Vista but have problems downloading tiff files from
www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk . Never had problems such as this with XP & I
suspect there is something easily corrected.

On the web site concerned, when I click on the save icon the default offered
is to save the image on the C drive as sample.tif. However the image doesn't
get saved.

If I browse to another location to save the image I get the message:

"You don't have permission to save in this location. Contact the
administrator to obtain permission. Would you like to save in the Pictures
folder instead?"

I select yes then Save but another message appears as follows:

"For your computer's security this file was saved in the Temporary Internet
Folder.
Do you want to open this folder?"

I select Yes but there is no sign of the tif file there or anywhere else on
C drive.

Any suggestions please?

You cannot save to C:\ (in the root) as this is protected by the system.

You must browse to a location that you have access to, I suggest
C:\Users\your name\Documents.

If you cannot save to c:\users\your name\documents then get back and perhaps
someone can give additional aid.
