playing media files

i have this really annoying problem of trying to play music files in windows
vista media player. from the library i select a song to play and it
says...media changing... i have to then wait a minute and a half between
songs. i thought it was my ram not being fast enough (1024) but tried all
ways of speeding that up but no, i also tried to find if any files where
corrupt, but no change either, also when songs are then playing it cuts up at
about three quaters of the way in.

no worrys now i had to disable enhancements from the settings in the control
panel all good now and it really speeds up between songs by a second thanks
for that cal bear' 66( a couple of reponses up from mine) it really helps....

You're welcome.
Microsoft radically changed the way sound is handled in Vista.
Hopefully soon audio adapter manufacturers will sort it out.
Sigma Tel is not the only ones with problematic/incomplete drivers.
I have both Realtek on-board and x-Fi add-in, and I think the Realtek sound is
superior.
