Cannot Import Pictures

I can no longer import pictures from my camera with Vista Premium. I
connect the camera and click on 'Import Pictures Using Windows' and a box
comes up saying 'No Pictures Or Videos Were Found On This Device'.
However, if I click on 'View Pictures Using Windows'. all my pictures are
there in Windows Photo Gallery. I can view them and copy and paste them to
the desktop. but if I click on 'Import To Gallery' . I get the message again
that says ' No Pictures Or Videos Were Found On This Device'.. I could
import fine last week, or perhaps the week before. I have not installed any
new programs.. It is an old Olympus camera and when I got Vista I didn't
install any Olympus software for the importing worked fine without it.. also
I checked for software updates for my camera and it is no longer supported.
for whatever it is worth they import fine using XP without any Olympus
software. The camera also shows up as a removable drive in 'My Computer'.
all the pictures are there. I ran 'diskmgmt.msc' and assigned a new drive
letter to the camera with the results still the same.



This is very troublesome. for it worked great last time I imported pictures.
any help would be greatly appreciated.
