Media player wont stream off internet

I just upgraded to vista and I listen to satelite radio over the internet.
When I pull up the program that streams the internet it says that i have to
have windows media player 11 to play that file type. I then try to download
windos media player 11 but I keep getting a message that I have a newer copy
already installed. Is there anyway I can stream over the internet and if not
how do I uninstall windows media player

I'm experiencing the exact same problem. Quite frustrating. I have spent
several hours trying to fix it with no success.
