Windows Photo Gallery in Vista

Does anyone know how to change the default settings in Vista Photo Gallery so
it does not save a copy of each and every photo I import to three locations,
ie., Pictures, Recently Imported and also a folder wherein I create a TAG or
a folder I create to store certain pictures. If I create a folder and import
photos into it, the program also saves the same photos in Pictures and also
Recently Imported. Likewise, if I delete a photo from Pictures the program
also deletes it from the folder I made. I've searched online for a better
way to personalize Photo Gallery for my use to no avail. Thanks.

VPG does not make multiple copies.
It just presents multiple ways of seeing each photo.
