In the "Views" drop-down in the Task pane, select one of the following views:
Medium Icons
Large Icons
Extra Large Icons
If thumbnail previews are still not generated, then open Folder Options applet via Control Panel or from Start ("control folders"). In the View tab of Folder Options applet, uncheck the following option:
"Always show icons, never thumbnails"
Click OK.

When I go into my pictures and try to view images in thumbnails all the
images have the same generic image showing. I cant actuly see the picture
till I click on it, which makes browsing very hard. How do I get rid of this?
is it a setting that I can change? it was not like that before. Any help
