Problem with WMP 11 on Vista

Hello!
I will like to ask for help with WMP 11 and the problems which i get
with
the NOT supported protocoles
My problem it is that before i make an update of WMP on the version 11
all the video links on web pages i use to see and also a TV programs by
which you can see tv channels from the internet they are not working
anymore!
If i try to open some link e.g.
http://www.noc.ntua.gr/binary/streaming/tv.asx which it was working
perfect before the WMP update or
mms://ert.media.noc.ntua.gr/wmtencoder/tv.wmv are not working anymore
and i get the error:

*protocole is not supported. If you typed a URL in the Open URL*
*dialog box, try using a different transport protocole (for*
*example, "http:" or "rtsp:").*
It is possible to fix this problem by some way?
Can i uninstall WMP 11?
I have read about a RoleBack but many as i, have install many
programs on pc after the update of WMP and it will be realy
painfull because will lost lot of work which have be made!!!* *
