Youtube music videos pause before resuming

Youtube music videos pause or stall after two minutes before resuming after a
twenty second delay or stalling completely.
Using a new hp dv6 laptop with vista64 and explorer 8, laptop updated for
latest microsoft updates and hp laptop updates. Connection is 2meg dsl and
4year old dell pc using xp plays youtube perfectly and once the video ends,
it downloads it in seconds. The hp laptop downloads the video very slowly and
never in seconds once the video eventually finishes.
Tried uninstaling adbe flash and reinstalling it, checked intel chipset and
bios under hp care guidance. Searched web but no exact answer despite
widespread issue, f(eeling on sites of ms -v- google issue, despite both
under same umbrella).
Has anyone overcome this youtube pausing in 2009?
