Windows Image Import Wizard works painfully slow
When I plug in my Sony Alpha DSLR using a USB 2.0 connection the files
transfer process is very, very slow. It takes up two hours to import 30 or so
images.

Thanks for your help in this matter.

You may get more of a response in a digital camera group such as the

I know for a fact when I first installed Vista is nagged about my USB
driver, which I disabled BEFORE installing Vista. I needed to
installed a Vista specific USB controller which I obtained from the
web site of my motherboard. Check your manual. If you have a ICH8
South Bridge that controls your USB functions on your motherboard you
may need a updated driver to get up to speed.

Re: Windows Image Import Wizard works painfully slow
Thanks, Adam. I updated all of my Dell machines' internal USB hubs (by
disabling them in BIOS) with a USB 2.0 5 port cards from Belkin. It fixed so
many anomalies with all the machines, except for this problem. The problem
occured on two separate machines, so I think it's the driver from Sony that's
bogging down.

The wizard works, but just so darned slow.
